Athletics Teams Parents Seattle Country Day School Team Parent Guide Meet with your team’s coach as soon as possible. Ask them what you can do to help them have a successful season. Some duties may include organizing field trips, communicating practice and game times, finding volunteer officials, and scheduling refreshments and carpools. Obtain the team roster from your coach. Confirm the roster with Chuck Lintz, Athletic Director at chucklintz@seattlecountyday.org. Prepare a contact list for parents with coach, athlete, parents names, numbers, and emails. Cell phone number can come in very handy if carpools are being used. Tell your parents about the SCDS Athletic Department website at www.seattlecountryday.org/Athletics.shtm featuring practice schedules, game schedules, and directions to all the games. Check with your coach about after practice and game snacks. Each parent should be asked to be a participant and you should distribute a list. Parents that have a conflict should be encouraged to work a trade with some other parent directly. Talk with the Athletic Director about how you can help with uniform collection at the end of the season. Let the players and parents know how they will be collected. Your main job is to help the coach. If parents have a complaint or issue
with any aspect of the team it is not your responsibility to solve. Tell
them to speak directly to the coach and if it is sill unresolved, then
they should discuss it with Chuck
Lintz.
