Traffic and Parking Procedures
Please take a moment to familiarize
yourself with SCDS's traffic and parking procedures. Please note that
many of the procedures below are conditions of the Master Use Permit
(MUP) granted by the City of Seattle. Failure to adhere to these conditions
will jeopardize renewal of our MUP which must be granted annually for
us to operate the school.
Traffic and Parking
- Drop-off and pick-up can only be made via the school
driveway from 4th Avenue North.
- A left turn into the SCDS driveway is permitted
on 4th Avenue North provided
this does not cause undue back-up up the hill towards Queen Anne
Drive.
- No parking, dropping off and/or picking up in the turnaround circle
are allowed at anytime.
- All student loading and unloading is restricted to
the drop-off and pick-up zone. Students may only exit and enter the
vehicle from the passenger side.
- Please use the major arterial streets when coming
to and leaving SCDS. This will help decrease traffic congestion
on neighborhood streets.
- Please, no cell phone use during drop-off and pick-up.
- SCDS parking spaces are located within the school
driveway and in the parking lot at the northwest corner of 4th
Avenue North and Newell Street.
- Drivers may park in the gravel lot located at the
corner of 4th Avenue North and Newell Street.
- When parking on residential
streets, please remember to follow city regulations for parking
on residential
streets. Allow 5 feet between vehicles and driveways. Allow 30
feet between vehicles and intersections.
