Come get to know us

There is no better way to really understand Seattle Country Day School than to come see it for yourself. We welcome visitors! Our tours and open house, detailed below, will give you an excellent look inside our school. Coming to a tour or open house is an application requirement, and an interesting one at that. In fact, many parents attend both.

Open House

Over 150 parents braved wet and blustery weather to attend our Open House on November 2. For those unable to attend but would still like to visit SCDS, see the "Tours" section below.

The SCDS Open House provides parents the opportunity to speak with teachers, current parents, and students in a relaxed atmosphere. Visitors follow student-guided or self-guided tours, attend Master Teacher presentations about our inquiry-based learning approach, and meet the Head of School.  Click here to see a schedule of events.

The Open House begins at 6:00 p.m. and ends at 8:00 p.m.  You do not need a reservation to attend. Upon arriving at Seattle Country Day School, go to the Multipurpose Room to sign-in. Students applying to third grade and above are welcome to attend the Open House.   

Tours

Tour our school with a small group of other parents between October and mid-January. Gain a better understanding of daily life at SCDS by observing our students and meeting key administrators. Reservations are required for tours and are for families applying for the 2012-13 school year.

Post Application Student Visits for the 2012-13 School Year

The Admissions Office schedules student visits. We will notify you of your child's visit date after receiving a completed application.
•   Kindergarten: January 31, February 1, 7, 8, 12, 16, 2012: 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.
•   Grade 1: February 9, 2012, 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.
•   Grade 2: February 28, 2012, 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.
•   Grade 3: March 1, 2012, 9:00 - 11:30 a.m.
•   Grade 4 - 8: January 26, February 2, 22, March 7, 2012, as scheduled
