The SCDS Wildcats Book Award

Students in grades four through six will have the opportunity to vote for the newly minted SCDS Wildcats Book Award in March 2009. This award was established during the 2007-2008 school year because the students voiced a desire to read from a list of nominees selected solely by members of our school community. Frustrated that some children’s choice award lists don’t contain many of the books that they like to read, the students took the matter into their own hands. Students in the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades suggested titles for inclusion on the 2009 Wildcats Nominee List. Mrs. Pearson chose twelve titles from the large number of student suggestions.
