ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT

Documentary filmmaker and cinematographer Andy Schocken '88 visited campus to speak to current students about the process of creating films and, specifically, about "Song of Lahore." This film is Andy's directorial debut and examines the lives of Pakistan's classical musicians; asking whether there is still room for them in a society roiled by social and religious upheaval. Want to to inspire SCDS students? SCDS Engineering Event in Full Swing

Every summer before school starts, Doc O, along with fellow SCDS Science Teachers James Spies and Ellie Peterson, put their heads together to come up with an innovative theme for the much-loved SCDS Engineering Event. This year's theme has been officially announced: Tall Ships!

Students are already hard at work on ship ribs, beams, masts, keels, etc. We hope you will join us for this highly anticipated SCDS tradition at 10:00 a.m. on November 22.

For an in-depth look at the Engineering Event and a peek at the past 25 years of Engineering Event themes, click here to read more from our Spring 2014 Kinetics article, "From Princely Prams to Mars Rovers: SCDS Engineers are Simply Clever!"
