Summer 2017: Graduation and Summer Connections!

June 2017

David Ordal, '93 was invited back to SCDS to be the guest speaker at this year's Leadership Recognition Dinner and he blew everyone away with his sharp wit and astonishing understanding of the hacking world, specifically travel hacking. He urged everyone in attendance to push themselves and their SCDS children to think beyond established boundaries and constraints.

David is CEO of Everbooked, a demand-based pricing startup, and ExaVault, a business file sharing startup. David also blogs at StartupCTO. He is a computer engineer, entrepreneur, and world traveller—who has visited every continent but Antarctica.

Inaugural Alumni Panel Success

On May 12, 2017, a group of Seattle Country Day School alums returned to campus to speak to middle schoolers in a special Alumni Panel facilitated by current parent, Alumni Coucil President, and class of 1985 alumnus Karim Lessard.  The panelists—David Ordal '93, Lisa Narodick Colton '89, Emma Kahle '06, and Zahlen Titcomb '96—then met with 8th graders for breakout sessions to dive deeper into questions about the transition to high school, college preparation, and general life after SCDS. Click the button below  to see video from Emma Kahle's breakout session.

Reconnect. Network. Engage.

With summer fast approaching, it's time to reconnect, network, and engage with one another. Maybe you want to throw an impromptu alum happy hour or you're interested in an internship at a fellow alum's company—whatever you are looking for we want to support you!

Sign up on our Alumni Student Directory to reconnect with classmates! Already signed up on the Directory? Take a moment to log in and make sure your information is up-to-date.

We have some wonderful things in the pipeline to help SCDS alums better network with each other and current families through LinkedIn! Stay tuned for updates later this summer!

We love perusing all of the exciting things alums are up to in our Class Notes section of Kinetics, but that is only published two times per year. We want to highlight alums through an Alumni Blog on the SCDS website featuring your stories and guest posts on subjects that matter to you. Be on the lookout for updates on this exciting project set to launch fall 2017.
