SCDS Debate Team Wins 1st Place at Tournament

On Saturday December 9, 2017 middle school students from Seattle Country Day's Debate Club traveled to Open Window School to participate in the second Debate Tournament of the year. At the end of the tournament, SCDS's Debate Team won 1st place overall with 8th grader Avi B. achieving 3rd place speaker overall, and 8th grader Andrew S. claiming 7th speaker overall.

SCDS Alumnus Andy Schocken '88 Debuts Documentary Film in Seattle on Oct. 19

SCDS Alumnus Andy Schocken '88 has been busy learning, exploring, and creating since his days at Seattle Country Day School. He is a documentary filmmaker and cinematographer living in Brooklyn and his directorial debut, Song of Lahore, has garnered critical acclaim. The Seattle South Asian Film Festival and the Stroum Jewish Community Center will host the Seattle premiere of the documentary on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. A Q&A and reception with Schocken will follow the screening.
